About the Mountain Bluebird:
A very striking bird, the Mountain Bluebird can be found in open, treeless terrain of the western United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite the name, the Mountain Bluebird is often seen in lower prairie habitats. 
The diet mainly consists of insects, but will also eat berries, especially during the winter months.
The male Mountain Bluebird is a bright blend of blues, while the female is dull brown, with some dull turquoise blue on the wings and tail.
